Fall has finally arrived! I don't know about you, but this is my favorite time of the year. I'm always inspired by the appearance of autumn colors ranging from shades of yellow, orange, green, red and brown. Fall is a reminder that cooler days are ahead! Cooler days speak "tea" to me, so I decided to celebrate fall's arrival with a little tea inspiration.
Don't you just love this Vera Bradley teapot? The fun and funky pattern is called "Puccini". The color palette speaks fall to me.
This vibrant orange teacup and saucer marries perfectly with the VB teapot. The teacup has a very unique gold handle which gives it a touch of sophistication. The delicate gold detail along the rim of the teacup and the edge of the scalloped saucer, help bring additional attention to the handle. Both pieces are marked "Gold Castle Made in Japan".
I decided to pull out some Ruby #18 (TRES #18) for this celebratory occasion. This is one of the most extraordinary teas I have ever tasted! It is produced in the Sun Moon Lake region in Central Taiwan. It took over 30 years to developed this special tea which is a cross between a Assam tea plant and a native Taiwan Chin Shin cultivar plant.
The aroma from the steeped leaves is intoxicating! The sweet and spicy fragrance awakens your senses! You will witness how the long black wiry dry leaves unveil themselves into large ruby brown leaves.
The stunning and rich ruby color liquor, makes you want to drink this tea out of a wine glass. Pure elegance! The taste is equally as pleasing. Smooth, sweet and spicy with no astringency. Yes, I must admit I have fallen hard for Ruby #18! LOL!
Can you think of any better way to welcome in the fall season? Let's hope this season brings a full harvest of refreshment, restoration and peace!
Happy Fall!
Blessings, Darlene
